Saracens V Harlequins on Saturday 17 April at Wembley |
THE EVENT OF THE YEAR? MAYBE SO! In any event here is your chance to raise some money for the club.
I have given away my 50th birthday party on 17 April to four charities of which BERFC is one of them. It will all start at WEMBLEY and then follow on at the OLD CROWN, 95 Highgate Hill, London N6 where we will be entertained by ENDBUTT LANE (they have played at O2 Arena so must be good) amongst other things!
Saracens has VERY KINDLY offered to kick-start the fund-raising by donating £5 for each adult ticket sold (£10 adults and £5 for U16)! I have secured 200 tickets near the half-way line and a further 300 at other locations. So email your orders now to

Let’s get buying and raise some fund for BERFC. My aim is to raise £1,000!
To gain entry to the evening party ‘down memory lane’ you will need to RSVP by 6 April 2010 to monica.liljeroth@bkl .co.uk
A personal invite will be sent to all my friends at the club later today!

RACE NIGHTThe Club will be holding a Race Night at the clubhouse on Good Friday 2nd April. The Race Night has become an important part of the Club’s annual income and I hope that you will be able to give your support. Last years event saw all the horses being sold very quickly and a number of you were disappointed, if you want to be certain of a place now is the time to make your booking! Numbers will be limited.
The films used are of quality races, each chosen for their exciting finishes with action packed footage. Commentary is provided by Derek Thompson of Channel 4 Racing.
The evening needs your support, even if you are unable to attend on the night you can still be a winner by being the owner of a winning horse. Each race will have eight horses which will cost £10 each, ( I am hoping that there will be one ‘big’ race for which horses will cost more - details to be confirmed ).The winning horse owner will receive a great prize which has been donated by a generous Club Member.(The confirmed prizes so far include cases of wine and a magnum of champagne ).
There are still some races that have not yet been sponsored, if you are able to sponsor a race then please call me on 020 8446 4401 or 07860 414504 or by E mail at

If you would like to buy a horse then please complete the slip below and return it to me, or leave at the bar with your payment. Last year a large number of people were too late to buy a horse so you are advised to reply quickly to avoid disappointment.
I hope that you will be able to join us on the night, I promise that it will be most enjoyable, the event will begin at 7-30pm and entry will be £6 for all those who are not ‘horse owners’, this includes a hot meal prepared by Nick and Lorraine.
Thank you for your support and good luck!
