U23 County Tournament
We have had to withdraw from the County u23 tournament on Dec 21st. There is an open invitation from Peter Engledow, the Herts RDO, that anyone who still wants to go along is very welcome . It's very unfortunate that this has happened but we still plan to take Development forward .

More news to follow,

Happy Xmas,

MAURICE WILLIAM DORAN 1931 – 2009
I am very sad to tell you that Maurice died on Saturday 5th December.

Maurice joined Barnet RFC in 1948 and shortly afterwards completed his national service in the RAF.

He was awarded an Honours Cap in 57/58 and captained the ‘A’15 in 58/59 and 59/60.

Maurice will be remembered by the ‘older members’ for his wonderful Christmas decorations in the clubhouse and for his‘themed ’fancy dress parties.

He retired from playing and became a vice president in 1970.He ran the Golfing Society from 1975 to 1988 and was known to everybody, including those from Edinburgh and Cromer as ‘God’.

Maurice was a stalwart with Chipping Barnet Cricket Club who fielded players from Barnet RFC, Saracens and Finchley many of them becoming members of Barnet RFC.

He was a long standing and respected member of Berkhamsted Golf Club where he had many friends. A number of these again becoming members of Barnet.

Maurice is survived by his wife Sheila and their sons,Jason and Adam.He will be sadly missed by his many, many friends.

There will be a private cremation on Wed.16th December, with a ‘celebration of his life’
at The Old Mill,London Road, Berkhamsted,HP4 2NB,on Wed.17th from 1pm onwards.

Tesco Vouchers

Although we did not collect as many vouchers this year as the year before we still managed to obtain some new well needed equipment. They are now with Justin Stockwell for onwards distribution or borrowing by teams. We got four sets for marker cones (50 in each) and four 4-metre agility ladders. Do make use of them when training your teams!

A big thank you goes to players, parents and club supporters for handing in vouchers!
